Mercy Team

What is the Mercy Team?

Our Mercy Team exists to help members of East End Fellowship connect with our East End neighbors with spiritual, relational, and financial support. The Mercy Team stewards EEF’s Mercy Fund, connects residents to a range of social and economic resources in broader Richmond, and seeks to walk alongside them on a path toward spiritual, social, and economic flourishing.

What Support Does Mercy Team Offer?

The Mercy Team offers applicants prayer and connection to resources to address housing, utilities, food, medical, transportation, and legal challenges.

Our Process

The Mercy Team accepts applications for assistance on a rolling basis. Once an application is received then the process is…

Step 1: Schedule - Applicants will be contacted within 5 business days to schedule a meeting with two members of the Mercy Team

Step 2: Meeting - Meetings are typically held on Sundays and can be done in-person or virtually. During the meetings the team connects with the applicant and works to better understand the applicant’s request

Step 3: Decision - The Mercy Team members will pray and come to a funding decision and contact the application within 2 business days with a decision to either fund or not fund the request.

Step 4: Funding/Referral - If the funding request is approved then the applicant's bill will be paid by the church administrator the Monday  - 8 days following the Sunday meeting.

Our average distribution is around $360 and depending on the need, our process can take between 1 to 4 weeks

Important note: Our team of volunteers works to address urgent requests as quickly as we can but the Mercy Fund is not intended for emergency funding requests. Please continue to pursue other sources of support as your application goes through the process.
