Immigration Volunteering
The Waymakers Foundation is a food pantry like no other, serving the Latino community with fresh and culturally conscious food and produce. Aside from their pantry, Waymakers Foundation partners with community organizations to hold a community resource fair every month. Follow the organization on Facebook to stay up to date on their services and upcoming programming.
The Sacred Heart Center offers programming and support to the Latino community through their adult/youth programs and community hub resources, which include tax services and an immigration legal services program. The Center also has an on-site food pantry.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering! We’re always looking for a range of both clinical and non-clinical volunteers. CrossOver’s meaningful work would not be possible without the talent and commitment of our many volunteers every day.
From helping clients build confidence in English to driving clients to essential programming, our talented volunteers are the foundation that allows us to effectively bridge gaps for newcomers. For over a decade we have been a trusted community partner, harnessing the talents and welcoming spirit of local Richmonders to support newcomers on their path toward self-sufficiency.
We often rely on volunteers to assist us in our work. We welcome assistance with clerical and administrative tasks, and fluent Spanish speakers are particularly encouraged.
The Richmond office utilizes volunteers for a variety of task, projects, and general office support throughout the year. Our volunteer recruitment and application processes vary, depending upon your goals for the volunteer experience.
Belmont Community Resource Services (Belmont) strives to be the hands and feet of God by mobilizing resources to nourish the mind, body, and spirit of our neighbors. The Belmont Food Pantry and The Closet at Belmont are an important part of supporting our community.
Lend your time and talent to support legal aid, community education, and advocacy for low-income Virginians. Whether you're a legal professional or simply passionate about justice, your contribution can make a difference.

Our work connects Asian Americans to programs and resources that meet their everyday needs and organizes them into a community base that believes in its own power and takes action alongside other groups who share our values. Together, as Hamkae Center, we will use our collective strength to push for real change in our neighborhoods and in the state of Virginia. We can create a trusted political home – a place where Asian Americans are supported, represented, and empowered.
The International Ministry of Ashland was started in 2022 as an ecumenical effort between First Baptist Church Ashland and Ashland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We strive to share God’s love with our newest neighbors, refugees and immigrants. We offer 3 levels of English classes and we have a mentorship program. We also serve as a drop off site for donations for the Disciples Depot clothing closet held monthly at Ashland Christian Church. We are always looking for more volunteers to help us in our efforts of showing hospitality to those who have recently come to America.
Our Mission: A network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to those in need.
