What is a Missional Community?
Missional Communities are extended families of disciples who are learning to put discipleship and mission at the center of their individual lives as disciples of Jesus, as well as the life of this spiritual family. Meeting 3-4 times a month on various nights of the week and spread across the east end of Richmond, our Missional Communities are led by trained, committed leaders who own the mission of East End Fellowship. The weekly times often include a meal, time in the Bible and prayer, worship, sharing testimonies and lots of time for fun and laughing. But more than one night a week, these are people looking to be a spiritual family and to do life together outside of just one night a week.
Broadly speaking, these spiritual families are committed to equipping people to experience intimacy with God in their group and personal lives (UP), to spending time investing in and discipling one another, not just in formal meeting times but as a way of life (IN). In this way, we are patterning our spiritual families after the life of Jesus.
